Project Renovation – What Others  Say  About The Project

Our Vision - "Creating a passion for spiritual formation in the lives of future and present Student Ministry leaders."

Our Distinctives - Missional – Relational – Transformational

Over the past two years I have had the privilege of serving various leaders and their ministries.  Our vision here at the “Project” is to serve other ministries in a missional, relational, and transformational way.  This has been accomplished through phone conversations, counseling, conflict resolution, spiritual formation retreats, extended times in prayer together, and sometimes just simply listening.  It is our joy here at the project to serve you and the ministry in which the Lord has entrusted to you in any way you would deem needed.  Our heart is to simply serve, no strings attached, so that the kingdom and His church here on earth can move forward.  The following are a few testimonies about what other people are saying about the project.

Testimonies

In the fall of 2006 the Lord blessed me with a divine retreat, “Soul Thirst II.”  Through the guidance of Rick Rhoads and others with Project Renovation this ministry allowed my soul to be rekindled with my Creator and Savior.  Though authentic Christ centered worship and age old spiritual disciplines my soul ignited and realized the need for brokenness and humility.  Our God is so huge and my world is constantly rocked by His love and grace.  In a world of business retreats and church seminars church leaders need to humble themselves and pray.  The position of a minister, at whatever level it may be, needs rebuilding, refining and refreshing.  Praise the Lord for my brothers who serve in ways to minister to the minister.  Thanks!

The Soul Thirst retreats have been an awesome time away to create space and focus on rest and renewal in my own personal walk.   These retreats have been nourishment to my soul.  They provide time for me to be with other friends in ministry just simply being away from work and the pressures of ministry.  It was a huge blessing to have people pouring into me, leading us in worship times and in the exploration and practice of spiritual disciplines.  The connections and experiences continue to impact me and make me look forward with anticipation as to what the Project will offer next.  I hope the other student ministry workers in our area will partner with Rick, LBC, & the “Project”, which will only enrich all of our lives and ministries.

Project Renovation is a vision for change in student ministry education and practice.  Rick, a humble disciple of Jesus Christ, has accepted the call to serve students and pastors in their mission of disciple-making and I whole heartedly support this work.  My life and ministry have been significantly impacted as a result of this vision.  Thank you Project Renovation!

Each time that Project Renovation crosses my mind, or I am able to participate in part of the Project, it is  a breathe of fresh air in my life and view of ministry.  When I first heard of the Project and was introduced to Rick, it was exciting to see that others agreed that something needed to change in the way we do ministry today to get more on board with Christ's way of doing life and "Ministry".  Through participating in prayer meeting and weekend retreat, Project Renovation has helped me to step back and refocus on purposefully living a Christ centered, healthy life, and connecting and building relationships with those who share the same passions.

Rick, I just wanted to say thank you for your vision for how you carry out your role at LBC.  It is important for someone who is training future leaders in youth ministry to be in relationship with those who are currently in youth ministry.  I also appreciate the type of relationship you are pursuing with youth leaders, one that pursues God together rather than a "what I have to offer you/what do you have to offer me" relationship.
